How to Make Cold Brew Coffee?

There are a few different ways to make cold brew coffee, but they all follow a similar method. Cold brew coffee is made by steeping coffee grounds in cold water for an extended period of time, usually 12 hours or more. The long steeping time extracts the coffee’s natural flavors and oils, resulting in a coffee that is less acidic and less bitter than coffee made with hot water.

One popular method for making cold brew coffee is to use a French press. To use this method, simply add your desired amount of coarsely ground coffee to the French press carafe, then add cold water. Stir the mixture gently, then place the plunger on top of the carafe without pressing down. Allow the mixture to steep for 12-24 hours, then press down on the plunger and pour your cold brew into a glass or pitcher.

Another popular method is to use a mason jar or other large jar with a lid. Add your ground coffee to the jar, then add cold water and stir gently. Place the lid on the jar and allow the mixture to steep for 12-24 hours. Once the steeping time is up, strain the coffee through a fine-mesh strainer or coffee filter into another jar or pitcher.

No matter which method you use, cold brew coffee concentrate can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 weeks. To make a cup of cold brew, simply mix 1 part concentrate with 1 part water (or milk, if desired) over ice.
